Fevah at the Astoria was huge in every way. We would roll in around lunchtime to start setting up, then perform all night back when everything was much more hands-on, then de-rig at the end. If we were lucky, we got home by lunchtime the following day. I often think how much easier it would have been if I had my sequencer back then, assuming that was even remotely possible at the time.
The place was absolutely rammed. They packed the Astoria, easily around 2000 people. Lab4 were headlining, genuinely lovely guys who we crossed paths with over and over at different events.
And the heat. Two thousand sweaty trance fans in a venue with no discernible aircon is hard to describe. It felt like the room was trying to boil itself. I am also fairly sure this was before health and safety rules properly clamped down on venue sound levels, so yes, it was loud as fuck.
Super intense nights, but what an experience.
